Anyone had trouble with military waivers? I need help

I’ve been trying to return to service since 2011 and I need 4-5 waivers to get back in. But no recruiting command will submit them. I’ve been to recruiting stations in DC, MD, VA, and NC, but no one seems to want to help me. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I’m honestly getting frustrated here, any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Wow, that sounds like a tough situation. I’ve heard some recruiting commands are very strict about waivers. Have they given you any specific reasons for rejecting them?

Yeah, one command said they wouldn’t submit more than 3 waivers, and another recruiter just told me he wouldn’t sign any. It’s like I’m hitting dead ends everywhere.

@Stormy
That’s really frustrating. Have you considered reaching out to a higher command, like the recruiting battalion or district headquarters? Maybe they can help push things through.

Ugh, I feel you. I tried the Army, Reserves, Marines, and even the Coast Guard, but everyone had excuses. Honestly, I gave up. Maybe it’s a matter of finding a recruiter who’ll actually work with you.

Yeah, I’ve been all over. The latest one even told me to try in Florida, but I’m getting pretty tired of this. I’ll try talking to a different recruiter, though.

Just curious, have you been told what exactly is disqualifying you for service? Maybe knowing the specifics of your disqualifications could help with the waiver process.

I think it’s mostly about past service issues, but I’m not entirely sure. I’ve been trying to get more info, but no one’s giving me a straight answer. :unamused:

Maybe you could contact your local congressperson? Sometimes they can help get things moving with military-related issues like this.

That’s a good idea, I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll look into it and see if they can help me out.

I’d definitely recommend consulting with a military lawyer who specializes in enlistment issues. They might be able to give you more tailored advice. Good luck with everything!

Thanks! I think I might need to look into that as well. This is way more complicated than I expected. :sweat_smile:
