I’ve been in Oklahoma Drug Court for 41 months now, but I heard it’s usually 36 months. Anyone know if there’s a way to finish up and ‘time out’ early?
I think it depends on your compliance, like meeting all the program requirements. Have you talked to your attorney about petitioning for early release?

I haven’t yet… Just wanted to see if others have been in the same spot before I make a move.

Yeah, compliance is key. If you’ve had any issues—like missing court dates or failing tests—that might extend your time.
In my experience, judges in Drug Court have a lot of say. They can sometimes add time if they feel it’s needed, even if you’re past the general 36-month period.

Good to know. Guess I’ll gather any documents showing my progress before I go to the judge.
Did you have any non-compliance issues? Sometimes even one slip-up can lead to extended time.

I was late a few times, but nothing major. Does that still count?

Late appearances can count depending on the court, but it usually depends on how strict your judge is.
You could try filing a motion for early release if you’ve met all the requirements. It’s worth discussing with a legal professional.

Yeah, looks like it might be time to call my lawyer. Just hoping to get out of this soon.
FYI, timing out usually means you’ve completed everything and the judge agrees. Documentation showing compliance really helps .

Thanks! I’ll get my papers in order to back up my request.

Good plan! Best of luck, hope it works out.
