I’m a disabled veteran and was diagnosed with thyroid disease back in 1991 after leaving service. Recently, I’ve been looking into the firefighter foam class action lawsuit. I filled out one of those questionnaires online, and now I’m getting a ton of emails from law firms. Problem is, most of them seem sketchy—like they didn’t exist before this lawsuit. Does anyone know of a legit law firm handling these cases?
I’ve heard about those PFAS lawsuits. Sounds like you should look for firms that specialize in toxic exposure cases. Did you check if the firms emailing you have any case history?

Yeah, I did. Most of them don’t seem to have a track record, which is why I’m hesitant. Any tips on finding legit ones?

Try searching for law firms that have been involved in other big environmental cases. That’s what I’d do.
Some veteran organizations might be able to recommend reliable firms. They usually have good connections.

Good idea, thanks! I’ll reach out to some local ones and see if they have suggestions.

Yeah, veteran groups helped me with a different lawsuit once. Definitely worth a shot.
If you’re not sure about the firms emailing you, check with your state bar association. They’ll have info on whether those lawyers are legit.

Didn’t think of that, but makes sense. Thanks for the tip!
IDK about specific firms, but make sure they have experience in class actions. These cases get pretty complicated.

True. I’ll start narrowing it down to ones with real experience.
FYI, some of the big-name firms are taking these cases. Just search for ‘AFFF class action’ and look for well-known ones.

Appreciate that. I’ll focus on ones that have been around for a while.
