Hey everyone, I’m trying to clear a driving license suspension and a red light violation case. I don’t have the exact date of the suspension, and I’m wondering where I can find it. Also, I’m not in Florida anymore, so it’s been a bit tricky to figure out what to do next. Anyone been through something like this? Any advice would be appreciated!
I had a similar issue! You can check your suspension status on the FLHSMV website. That should have all the details about your suspension and how to clear it.

Oh, I didn’t know about that! I’ll check it out. Is it hard to get the D-6 clearance form after paying the fine?
@Westley
It’s not too difficult. After you pay the fine, you can request the form from the court. Some courts even let you get it by email, depending on where the violation happened.
I’ve dealt with this before. If you’re outside Florida, try contacting the court via email. Some counties have that option for traffic cases.

I was wondering how to do that. Do you know how to find the court’s email?
@Quincy
Yeah, just check the court’s website. They usually list contact info for the traffic division. You can send them your inquiry and they’ll get back to you.
Sounds like a bit of a hassle. If you’re dealing with multiple offenses, you might want to talk to a traffic lawyer. They could help speed things up for you.

That’s true. I’ve heard a lawyer can help avoid extra penalties. Has anyone used one for something like this?
@Spence
Yep, a traffic lawyer helped me clear my suspension faster. They know all the steps and can deal with the courts for you, especially if you’re not in Florida.
You’ll probably need to pay the reinstatement fee and the fines. If the court is hard to reach, try using the FLHSMV’s website. It might take a few days to process everything though.

Good to know. I’ll make sure to pay everything online to avoid waiting. Thanks!
Just a heads up, don’t drive in Florida until everything is cleared. It can get worse if you get caught while your license is suspended.

Yikes, didn’t realize that! Thanks for the reminder. I’ll wait until it’s all sorted.
