I got hit with a violation for my vehicle not being in the taxable inventory in Kentucky. I have a KY hway license and pay taxes every quarter, so I’m kinda confused about this. Anyone dealt with something similar or have advice on how to handle it?
I’ve heard of this happening if they think your vehicle isn’t properly registered or doesn’t show up in the tax records. Have you received any letters or notices from the authorities about it?

I haven’t gotten anything in the mail yet, just noticed the violation. Was hoping it was some mistake or misunderstanding.
If you’re paying your taxes every quarter and have a valid license, it might just be a mix-up. Definitely good to get a lawyer involved to help sort it out, especially if it was a simple error in the system.
@Sam
Yeah, I’m thinking I might need to get a lawyer to look at it. Wasn’t sure if this kind of thing needs legal help or if it’s just a small fix.
@Ty
Good idea! I wasn’t sure if I should call or do something else first. I’ll look into chatting with a lawyer about this.
I had something like this happen once. They just needed more details from me about my vehicle’s registration and tax status. If you’re paying quarterly taxes, it should be easy to clear up once they see you’re up to date.
@Keagan
That’s reassuring. I’ll get my records together and try to clear it up with them.
Definitely talk to a lawyer if you haven’t already. They can help you figure out what’s going on with the violation and make sure it doesn’t go further. You don’t want any extra fines or penalties if it’s just a small issue.
@Morgan
Yeah, I don’t want this to snowball into something bigger. I’ll reach out to someone soon. Thanks for the advice!
