Anyone know why Arkansas has a hold on my driver’s license?

I live in Kentucky and was trying to renew my driver’s license, but they said Arkansas has a hold on it and I don’t know why. I’ve never been to Arkansas. Any idea what’s going on or how I can get it removed?

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. But I’ve never even been there so IDK how that could happen lol.

Could be a clerical error or something like mistaken identity. Have you gotten any tickets from Arkansas or had any issues with them before?

Nope, never been there or gotten any tickets. Just seems so random.

I’ve read about situations like this where a state can put a hold on your license for things like unpaid tickets or fines from other states. I’d recommend contacting Arkansas directly.

Sounds like it could be a clerical mix-up. I’d suggest contacting Arkansas like the lawyer said and see if they can clear it up. The link looks useful too.

Wait, what’s a ‘clearance letter’? Do I need that too if I’m in a similar situation?

It’s just a letter you request from Arkansas to find out why they’ve put a hold on your license. They’ll send you details about what’s going on.
