Can a divorced parent be required to cover the cost of braces for their child?

I live in Maryland, in the US and my parents are the ones who are divorced, not me. I am still 15 so I, unfortunately, can’t help. My father is responsible for my medical insurance and pays $600 a month for child support. I have braces and the cost is $260 a month. My mother is saying that in the MD law or whatever he has to pay half of it, but this was not court ordered. I tried to find where it says this but can’t find anything about it.
