Hey, I have a question about joining the navy. I’m a person with HIV and only one testicle. I just saw some news about it recently, but I’m not sure if I can actually join. Anyone know more about this? Any info would be great!
I think I saw something about this too. From what I know, HIV-positive people can now join the military under certain conditions. But I’m not sure about having just one testicle. Anyone else have more details?
@Shaye
Yeah, I read that a judge ruled that people with HIV could enlist. But not sure about the one testicle part… maybe check with a recruiter?

Good idea, I’ll definitely reach out to a recruiter. I think the medical stuff can vary a lot depending on the situation, right?
I’ve heard that the military is more open to people with medical conditions now, but they still have specific rules about things like HIV. I would say definitely talk to a recruiter or someone in medical to get all the facts.
@Raj
Yeah, I agree with LMN. You should talk to a recruiter. Also, don’t forget to mention your HIV status and testicle situation so they can give you a clear answer.
I’m not sure, but maybe they’ll consider your undetectable status for HIV? I think if the condition is controlled, it might be different. Definitely talk to a recruiter!
It’s tricky, but I believe HIV-positive people can join now if their condition is stable. As for the one testicle, maybe it’s worth getting a medical review? That could clear things up.
Just to clarify, are you saying you’re living with undetectable HIV? I think that could be important to mention when talking to a recruiter.

Yeah, I’m undetectable, so I hope that helps. Just trying to figure out if I can actually enlist.
