Can I still report a military affair from a few years ago?

So, I just found out after three years that an NCO was messing around with my wife, who was a lower enlisted soldier in his unit. It’s been about 2020 or maybe 2021. Can I still report this? I’m wondering if it’s too late now. I want him to lose his rank and get a dishonorable discharge. Any advice would help!

Oof, that sounds rough. I think you can still report it. It might be complicated though since it happened a while ago, but you should definitely talk to a lawyer or CID.

Yeah, it sounds like something you shouldn’t just let go. You could still report it and see what they say. Maybe the evidence you have could help, even if it’s been a few years.

@Shay
For sure, having some proof, even if it’s just photos or stuff like phone records, can make a big difference. CID will know what to do with it.

Wait, are you saying they’re still together? If so, you can probably report it with whatever evidence you have now. Just contact the CID where the NCO is stationed.

Yeah, they’re still together. I’m still married, though the divorce isn’t finalized yet. I’m hoping the CID can still do something with what I’ve got.

You can totally report it even if you don’t have full proof yet. They might pull more records or evidence. And don’t worry, it’s not too late.

Good to know, thanks! I was wondering if the lack of full proof would hold me back. I’ll try reaching out to CID.

I’d say go for it. You don’t need everything to report it. The CID will investigate it. The photos you have might be enough to get the ball rolling.

Awesome, thanks for the reassurance. I’ll contact the CID closest to where he’s stationed and see what they say.

I think the CID will investigate, no matter how old the situation is. If you can find more proof, great, but don’t wait if you feel like you’ve got enough.

I agree, I’m not going to wait any longer. I’ll send what I have and see if it’s enough. Thanks for the help, everyone!
