I have $1500 in overdue tolls with TexTag, and my license got suspended. I can’t afford to pay the whole amount but need to get my license back. Should I reach out to TexTag first or the DMV? Anyone dealt with this before?
That sounds super frustrating… I’ve been hit with fees before too. Maybe check with the DMV to see if they have a compliance summary? That could show exactly what steps you need to get your license back.
@Laine
Good idea. Do you know if that’s something I can get online?

Depends on the state, but some let you check online or call in. Might be worth a shot!
When I had a similar issue, I contacted TexTag directly, and they worked out a payment plan. Maybe see if they can reduce the fees?

Yeah, I’ve tried to reach out before. Just kept getting bounced around to different people. Might have to give it another shot though…
@Jesse
Ugh, I know how that goes. Try asking to speak with a supervisor if it happens again.
I’ve heard some people just keep making partial payments, and eventually, they work something out. Might be worth continuing to pay what you can.

That’s what I’ve been doing… just not sure if it’ll make a difference without something formal in place.
If you’re worried about legal fees, some traffic lawyers offer free consultations. Maybe they could at least give advice on the best way to handle it.

Not a bad idea… I just don’t want to get stuck with a bill I can’t pay. Worth checking out though.
FYI, TexTag customer service is a nightmare sometimes. I’d document everything – just in case.

Good call. I’ll start doing that. Thanks for the heads up!
