Changed banks, retirement pay not deposited yet... help?

We recently switched banks to Pen Air, and I just wanted to check if my military retirement pay was deposited into the right account. It was due September 1st, but I haven’t seen it hit yet. Anyone know what might be going on or how to fix this?

Did you update your account info with DFAS? It can take like 30-45 days to process changes sometimes.

Yeah, I updated everything in time, and they confirmed it was set up. But nothing’s come through yet.

Maybe double-check your old account too? Sometimes payments still go there if the update wasn’t fully processed.

FYI, military pay dates shift if the 1st falls on a weekend. Did you check the pay schedule? September 1st was a Sunday.

Oh, I didn’t think of that! So it should’ve been deposited on the 31st or something?

Nope, it rolls to the next business day—so it would’ve been on September 3rd. Check with Pen Air to confirm.

Do you still have your old bank account open? I’ve had payments show up there even after updating info.

No, we closed it already. I guess that rules that out.

Bummer. Try calling DFAS directly—they can confirm where the payment went.

When I switched banks, I kept the old account open for a couple of months just in case. Learned that the hard way before lol.

Wish I’d thought of that… definitely doing that next time!

If nothing else works, contact DFAS at their customer service number. They’re pretty good at sorting these things out.

Thanks! Do you happen to know the number?
