Child support help... it's important

Hey folks, I really need some help here in Georgia. I’m trying to prove that I’ve never received child support, even though my divorce decree says it’s court-ordered. The thing is, it was never enforced or filed with the child support agency. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice would be super appreciated!

Have you tried calling the state’s child support agency? They might have a way to confirm that you don’t have a case with them.

I think you can get a statement from them saying you don’t receive support. That might help a lot.

I’m actually going to the county office tomorrow to see if I can get that statement.

In my state, we can check child support info online. Maybe see if GA has something similar?

I can’t create an account without an IRN number since nothing was ever filed.

You should definitely talk to the county clerk. They can guide you on how to get it filed properly.

I called them, and they told me to contact child support instead.

Have you thought about signing an affidavit to show you haven’t received any support? That might help.

Yeah, I could do that. I just want to make sure I have everything I need for my apartment application.

@Raine
Good luck with that! They might ask for more proof, though, so be ready.
