Hey everyone, so I had this situation earlier today. I was in a rental car outside a pharmacy in Pennsylvania, and as I was getting into the car, a piece of paper fell out of the door onto the ground. I made the mistake of not picking it up and just drove away. No police were involved, but I think someone might’ve seen it happen. Now I’m paranoid, especially since I’m moving to another state tomorrow. Could anything happen because of this? Appreciate any advice!
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s super unlikely anyone would report something like that unless they’re really petty.

Thanks, that’s what I was hoping to hear! It’s just been stressing me out, lol.

Yeah, even if they did report it, the police probably wouldn’t bother. They’ve got bigger things to handle.
Did you intentionally drop the paper, or did it just fall by accident?

It just fell out of the door. I didn’t throw it or anything, but I didn’t pick it up either.

If it wasn’t intentional, it’s not really littering. Plus, it sounds like a one-time thing.
If the police weren’t involved and you’re leaving the state, I doubt there’s anything to worry about.

That’s a relief to hear! Thanks for the reassurance.

Yeah, it’s not like they’d track you down for one piece of paper. Relax!
Even in the worst case, it’d probably just be a small fine. No need for a lawyer or anything.

That’s good to know. I was worried it could turn into something bigger.

Exactly. Just make a mental note to pick it up next time. No big deal!
BTW, did you tell the rental car company about this? Not that it matters, but just curious.

No, I didn’t mention it to them. Didn’t think it was worth bringing up.

Yeah, I wouldn’t bother either. It’s such a small thing, they wouldn’t care.
