Hey, I need to know if I need an appointment at the Bad Axe, MI Secretary of State’s office to replace a lost driver’s license? Anyone been there recently and know what the deal is?
I’ve been there! You usually need an appointment, especially for stuff like replacing a license. The office is pretty busy, so I’d recommend scheduling one ahead of time if you can.

I think they let you walk in too, but yeah, expect a loooong wait if you don’t have an appointment lol.
@Piper
Exactly, I waited forever without one. Just make sure to use the MI-TIME Line to check availability and maybe avoid that wait time.
Yep, I had to replace my license too. The website has all the info you need on whether you need an appointment or not. Also, you’ll need some docs to prove who you are, so bring a passport or birth certificate.
@Jesse
Oh, good to know. I didn’t realize I needed to bring those. Is there a fee for replacing it?

Yeah, there’s a fee. You can check the latest fee on the SOS website when you book your appointment.
Thanks for the info! So, I can use the MI-TIME Line to schedule or see if I can just walk in, right?

Yep, exactly! MI-TIME Line is super useful for that. You can either book or just check for walk-in spots.
I would definitely book an appointment, just to be safe. Also, if you’re in a rush, I think some things can be done online if you recently renewed your license.
Do you guys think I can still do it online even if I lost my driver’s license recently? IDK if that works…

It’s possible if you’ve already renewed it online or in person recently. Check the SOS portal for that option, they’ll tell you if you can do it without going in.
