Do I need an appointment to replace my lost driver’s license in Bad Axe?

I misplaced my driver’s license and need to replace it. Do I need an appointment to get a new one? My birthday is on January 28th, if that helps. I’m in Michigan, and the closest DMV is in Bad Axe.

Hey, I think you don’t need an appointment in Michigan for a lost license, but it can vary by location. You might want to check the SOS website to be sure. It’s super easy to do online too if you have your info saved.

Yeah, I’ve been there before, and I didn’t need an appointment. But sometimes it’s faster if you book one.

Good point, definitely check first. Don’t want to waste a trip if they’re packed, lol.

I think you’ll need to bring ID proof, like a passport or birth certificate. And you might wanna check how much the replacement fee is too.

Yeah, I’ve done this before. It’s usually around $9, but definitely worth confirming on the SOS website.

FYI, if you’re in a hurry, you can do it online sometimes, but it depends on your account status. Could save you a trip.

Oh, didn’t know about the online option. I’ll check that out!

I’d recommend visiting the Bad Axe DMV in the morning if you’re just walking in. I’ve done that and didn’t have to wait too long.

Good tip! I’ll try to go early. Hopefully, it won’t be packed.

So, just to confirm, no appointment needed, but it’s better to check the website for availability, right? Noted.

Yep, exactly! It’s always a good idea to double-check, especially for places like Bad Axe that can get busy.
