EEOC right to sue letter... what's my next move?

I just got a right to sue letter from the EEOC and honestly, I’m a bit lost on what to do now. Anyone been through this process? Any advice would help.

I went through this before. You usually have 90 days to file a lawsuit after getting the letter. Have you looked into hiring a lawyer yet?

Not yet. I’m kinda confused about what category my case falls under. Any tips?

@Remy
It depends on what your claim is. Could be discrimination or retaliation? Did they tell you what the case was about?

@Remy
FYI, you can get some free legal consultations online. I did that when I wasn’t sure about my case.

When I got mine, the EEOC had already categorized my claim as discrimination. Did they tell you what yours was?

Yeah, they said it was for racial discrimination, but I also think there’s retaliation involved. It’s a lot to handle.

@Remy
Ugh, that sounds rough. You might be able to include both claims when you file. Have you thought about getting legal help for that?

I’ve heard some lawyers won’t take on cases against schools. Is that true?

Yeah, that’s been my experience. No one around here wants to take the case because it’s a school. Really frustrating.

I’ve seen that too, but I found a lawyer who specializes in these cases online. Maybe give that a shot?

When I got my right to sue letter, I had no idea what to do either. Just make sure you don’t miss that 90-day deadline!
