So, I just had a DRB last Friday, and they told me I have an XOI (Executive Officer Inquiry) next week. Honestly, I have no idea what to expect, and the whole thing’s stressing me out. I’m dealing with cocaine allegations, and I need some advice ASAP. Anyone been through something like this or have any tips on what I should do to prepare?
I’ve been through an XOI before. Honestly, the best advice I can give is to stay calm and make sure you’ve got your evidence together. Don’t lie or try to cover things up—it’ll make it worse. But if you’re innocent, make sure to clearly explain any mix-ups.
@Nico
Yeah, that’s super important. If there’s anything that could prove you didn’t do it (like prescription meds), have that ready. They might consider that.

Exactly. And keep your composure. Being respectful and clear can actually help your case a lot.
What exactly happens during the XOI? Is it just a meeting or is there a whole process?

It’s basically where the XO (Executive Officer) looks at your case and decides if it goes to a Captain’s Mast or court-martial. They review everything from your DRB and decide next steps.
You should definitely talk to JAG. They can help guide you through the process and give you legal advice. They’re free and know the military system really well.

I was actually planning to, thanks! Just wanted to get some advice here first since it’s coming up so soon.
If you think the test was wrong, make sure you ask for a review of how the urinalysis was done. Sometimes those tests are messed up, and you have the right to question it.

That’s a good point. I’m definitely going to ask about that if I get the chance. Thanks for the tip!
Just don’t panic. It’s easy to freak out, but staying calm and following the steps is your best bet. If you need extra help, a private lawyer can be an option later, but start with JAG first. They know their stuff.
@Jin
Totally agree. JAG is free, and they know exactly how to handle military cases like this.
