I’m a US citizen living in the Dominican Republic and working for my dad. I want to return to the US and join the Marines. I have my passport and no medical or criminal issues. Does anyone know how quickly I can get into the system? I’d like to be in within two weeks if possible. Also, should I start preparing for any tests?
From what I know, it can take a few months to get in, depending on demand. Have you contacted a recruiter yet?

Yeah, the recruiter will be your first step. They’ll guide you through everything. Have you taken the ASVAB?

I haven’t taken it yet. Is it hard? What should I study?
You might want to start practicing for the PFT and CFT. They’re physical fitness tests you’ll have to pass. Are you working out regularly?

I’ve been getting back into shape, but I don’t know much about the tests. What do they involve?

The PFT includes things like pull-ups, crunches, and a 3-mile run. The CFT is more about combat fitness. Check out marines.com for details.

Got it, thanks! I’ll look it up and start practicing.
The ASVAB is also important. You need at least a 31 to qualify for the Marines. Have you started studying for it?

Nope, not yet. Any tips for studying?

Try practice tests online. They’ll give you a good idea of what to expect. Focus on math and word knowledge!

What kind of jobs can I do in the Marines? Any idea?

You’ll pick an MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). It could be anything from combat roles to logistics or tech jobs. Check marines.com for the full list!
