I need to get a copy of my Texas driver’s license from 2008 and also a record of my license history. It’s for tax purposes, to prove I lived in Texas. Anyone know how to go about this?
Hey! You can request a copy of your driving record online through this link: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/DriverLicense/dlfork.aspx?action=record. Hope that helps!

Thanks, I’ll check that out! But they’re asking for my Texas driver’s license number… I don’t remember it.
If you don’t know your license number, you can try this form to request your record by mail: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/InternetForms/Forms/DR-36.pdf. It’s an abstract record search.

Oh, I didn’t know about that form. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!
@An
I didn’t think about that! I’ll try pulling my Louisiana record too. Thanks!
Here’s the link to get your Louisiana driving record: https://omv.dps.state.la.us/pp_odr/odr.asp. That should give you a full record, including when your Texas license was canceled.

Perfect! I’ll use that to prove I lived in Texas. Thanks for the help!
If you moved to Louisiana in 2009, you could also call the Texas DMV to ask about your license status. They should be able to tell you when it expired or was canceled.

Good call! I’ll reach out to them for the details. Appreciate it!
