Hey everyone! I need to renew my CT driver’s license, and I was wondering what the process is like. My license expires on 10/27/24, so I’m trying to get this sorted out ahead of time. I haven’t changed my address or anything, so I think it should be a pretty straightforward renewal. Anyone know how I can do this online or what steps I need to follow? Appreciate any advice!
You can renew online if everything is up to date! I did mine last year. Just make sure your details haven’t changed and you should be good to go. You’ll just need to log into the CT DMV website.

Thanks for the info! Do you remember if you needed to upload any documents or was it just a simple form?

It was super simple, no documents needed for me. Just updated a few things and paid the fee. It only took like 10 minutes.
I’ve done it in person, but I think the online process should be pretty much the same if you’re not updating anything major.

It wasn’t too bad, maybe 20 minutes, but I’m guessing online is faster. Just double check if you’re eligible to renew online.
I renewed my CT license last month. It’s super easy online. Just make sure you select the right option, and you can do it all from your computer. If you have any issues, I’d recommend chatting with a rep on the site.

I think I saw an option for online renewals when I logged into the DMV portal last week. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in a rush!

I don’t think so, but I’d recommend doing it before the expiration date just to avoid any issues. Better safe than sorry!
I just renewed mine in person, but if you’re doing it online, make sure your address is updated if you’ve moved recently.

Yeah, I’ve got everything updated. Just wanted to be sure I could do it online without any problems.
