I’m the custodial parent and want to take the father off child support (the kids aren’t 18 yet, so I want to end it early). He can’t afford to pay, and if he goes to jail, it won’t help any of us.

Give your Family Support Division a call and let them know you want to explore other options if he falls behind on payments, and ask them to take him off the list.
Just send back whatever he pays you.
