How to set up an appointment for DL renewal at Folsom DMV?

I’m 82 and need to renew my driver’s license in person at the Folsom, CA DMV. I’ve already filled out the form online, but I’m not sure if I should print it and bring it with me or if there’s a way to send it directly. Also, how do I schedule an appointment or reduce wait times?

The Folsom DMV has a ‘get in line’ feature instead of regular appointments. You can check in online and see your wait time go down while you wait at home.

Oh, that sounds handy! Do you have the link for it?

Yeah, here’s the link: Folsom - California DMV. You can check in there before heading over.

Thanks so much! That should save me a lot of time.

For the form, you can just print it out and bring it with you. That’s usually the easiest way.

Got it. I’ll print it out then. Do they need anything else like ID or proof of address?

Yeah, bring your current DL, maybe a utility bill for proof of address, and any other ID just in case.

FYI, if you’re using the ‘get in line’ feature, make sure to check in early. The spots can fill up quickly.

Good tip, thanks! I’ll try to check in first thing in the morning.

If the DMV is super busy, you might want to go in the middle of the week. Mondays and Fridays are the worst.

That’s helpful to know. I’ll aim for midweek then!

If you’re not comfortable with the ‘get in line’ thing, you can always just walk in, but the wait might be long.

Yeah, I’d rather not wait all day if I don’t have to. Thanks for the heads up.
