Why would anyone need multiple guardians for their child? Isn’t that overcomplicating things?

I agree; it’s a mess. I have sole guardianship of one child, and having multiple people involved shouldn’t be necessary.

Honestly, the situation never should’ve gotten that complicated. It’s frustrating, but sometimes you just have to work with it.
You might want to check with family court about having an agreement that says the kids go to you if something happens to her. If you have legal rights, this might already be covered.
Not a lawyer here, but you could ask the court to put a condition in the parenting order that overrides her will in terms of custody. I’m curious—why is she trying to control custody after she’s gone?
@Shan
She’s not sick or anything; she’s just difficult.
Even after getting almost everything in the settlement, she’s still not happy and is trying to make things complicated.
No cheating or abuse on either side. She wanted out, I agreed, and things went downhill from there.
@Dale
Sorry to hear that. You could try asking for partial custody, at least to have some legal protection and less drama later.
A court will always prioritize what’s best for the child. Might be worth getting legal advice.
