Is anyone else loving this experience

I went from being unsure about this app cycle to completely loving it. The challenge is exciting and my group is competitive yet supportive. We take it seriously and it feels incredible!

I just want this to end so I can get back to my life. I’m 33, married, and have 3 kids.

I totally get that. I’m not in the same boat, so this is my main focus. Having other priorities can really change how you see school.

Law school seems to attract people who enjoy being unhappy, but I’m having a decent time too.

My first thought was ‘no way’. I like some parts of law school, but a lot of what I enjoy comes from doing my own thing. The atmosphere often feels negative, and the structure makes it worse. Some camaraderie exists, but overall, law school is a tough yet rewarding experience. If you’re enjoying it, that’s great, but not everyone feels that way.

@Ash
Are you saying most people dislike law school? I’m asking because I thought it was a mix. Many can be happy if they make friends and adapt.

Not sure if that’s sarcastic, but what’s with the negativity about law? Do people just enjoy the struggle?

@Ashwin
The competitive nature is less appealing when you study hard and only get Bs. You might end up realizing your dream job isn’t in reach. I do love my classes, but liking competitiveness is new to me.

@Ashwin
It’s real. It’s fine to enjoy learning, but the grading curve can feel like a double-edged sword. It helps but can make you feel inadequate. They are preparing you because many are not ready.

I liked school and have good memories. I still chat with some friends from my first year. Enjoy it; time flies.

Thanks, that’s encouraging to hear.

All the negativity directed at the person who posted this really supports the bad image of law students. They’re happy and spreading positivity. Bringing them down because you feel bad is sad. People like this make me dread starting law school next year.

Gunner vibes, right?

I’m not a gunner; I rarely raise my hand and dislike attention. I enjoy my classes and peers. If enjoying what I’m spending so much on is a gunner attitude, I guess I am. It’s strange how many love to criticize those who feel good about their choices.

@Ashwin
I’m not hating, just saying not many would agree that competitiveness is good. It’s what many dislike most about law school.

Why is enjoying the school experience viewed negatively? Why criticize those who like the process?

@Ashwin
You love the competition and call it a part of law school. Others disagree. People might downvote you for that. I enjoyed law school but not the competitiveness. It got me where I am, but I’d rather not deal with that part.

@Torin
How is saying something is a part of law school and saying it’s enjoyable contradictory? You might find it toxic, but I’ve had a different experience. I’m lost on where I was contrary. You seem bitter.

@Ashwin
No offense, but you seem bitter attacking everyone who says their experience wasn’t positive.
