ok this might be way too late but i still wanna try… my section 8 voucher got terminated back in may 2023 in indiana. i didn’t really know what to do at the time tbh, kinda just froze and now i’m wondering if there’s any shot it can be reinstated. has anyone ever gone through something similar?
yo i had mine terminated before too. did you ever get a letter about the termination or anything like that?

yeah i did back in 2023… just never followed up cuz i didn’t really know how to handle it
might be worth trying to contact the housing authority again and explain what happened. sometimes if you got a good reason they might review your case.

true. they might let you request an informal hearing even if it’s been a while. especially if you explain why you didn’t respond earlier.

what’s an informal hearing?
@Zeke
basically it’s a chance for you to explain your side before they make it final. you can show docs or reasons why you missed the deadline.
you’ll probably need stuff to back up your story tho… like if you had health issues or didn’t understand the process, show proof if you can.

yeah i was just clueless back then. didn’t think it would be that serious or final
if they still say no, you can try going to court. you’d need to ask for a judicial review. it’s more work but it’s an option.

judicial review? that sounds intense lol. is that like suing them?
@SophyGenesis
kinda yeah, you’re basically asking a judge to look at the decision and see if it was fair or not.
also make sure to gather stuff like your lease, any letters from them, emails etc. you’ll need it for any kind of hearing or appeal.
