Landlord put my address as his, where do I serve him?

So my landlord listed my address as his for some reason, and now I’m stuck trying to figure out where to even serve him with a restraining order. Like, how am I supposed to serve him if I don’t even know where he really lives? Anyone been through this or got ideas?

Yeah that sounds shady af. If mail won’t work since it’s your address, you might need a process server to track him down.

What’s a process server exactly? Never used one before.

@Vince
They’re people who literally find and serve legal papers to folks when you can’t do it yourself. Kinda like legal bounty hunters but less intense lol.

Try checking the county property records too. Sometimes owners list a diff mailing address there.

Ohh didn’t think of that. So like, the deed or whatever might have another address?

@Axel
Yeah exactly. The owner’s mailing address should be in the public property records. Worth a shot!

Lowkey sounds like he’s trying to dodge stuff. I’d def get someone to help track him down.

Fr! Some landlords pull weird moves like that to avoid getting served.

If you’re going legal with this, maybe talk to a tenant lawyer too. They can walk you through options like alt service methods.

Yeah might be time to go that route. IDK how far this will go but it’s getting wild.

Bro… that’s so sus. Why would he even use your address? Sketchy behavior all around.

Probably so he doesn’t get served lol. Some folks really try to play the system.
