Lost my car registration... what do I do?

Hey everyone, I lost my car registration. License plate is KWH, and I’m in Columbia, CT. Any idea what steps I need to take to get a new one? Thanks!

Oh no, that’s frustrating. Have you contacted your local DMV yet? They should be able to help you get a new registration.

I haven’t called them yet. I just found this forum and figured I’d ask here first.

Good idea! But yeah, definitely call them when you can. They usually have a process for this kind of thing.

Yeah, you can also go online and reprint your registration if you have a printer. Just go to CT.gov/DMV and look for ‘Reprint Registration Certificate.’ You’ll need your license plate number for that.

I had a similar issue a while back, and I just went to the DMV in person. It was a $20 fee, and they gave me a new copy right there. Not the fastest way, but it works.

You could also ask someone to print it for you if you don’t have access to a printer. It’s pretty simple once you find the website.

I don’t have a printer right now, so that’s actually super helpful. I’ll see if a friend can print it for me.
