Lost my driver’s license in Louisiana... how do I get a replacement?

I lost my driver’s license and need a replacement. It was valid before I misplaced it. I’m in MD right now, trying to figure out how to get a new one. Anyone know what the process is for this?

You can request a replacement through Louisiana’s DMV online if your license was valid. They’ll mail you a new one. It’s super easy!

Thanks, I wasn’t sure if I could do it online. I’ll check that out!

You’ll just need to contact your local OMV in Louisiana. I did the same thing last year when I lost mine. It was quick once I got everything sorted.

Oh, I didn’t know I could contact them directly! I’ll try that. Thanks for the heads up!

If you’re not in Louisiana, you can still do it online. Just make sure to have all your info ready.

I’m in MD at the moment, so I was wondering if it’s possible to do it from here. Glad to know I can!

You don’t need to go in person if you’re outside the state, but you’ll need to prove your identity. They might ask for your SSN or other personal details.

Good to know! I’ll get those ready. Hopefully, it’s quick.

Also, FYI, I think you can just contact the legal aid society if you run into any trouble with the process. They usually offer help with things like this.

That’s great to hear! I’ll keep that in mind in case anything goes wrong. Thanks!
