Lost my Texas driver’s license… need a replacement?

Hey everyone, I lost my Texas driver’s license and need to replace it. I haven’t reported it as lost yet and I have my license number. Anyone know the best way to go about this?

You can probably do it online if you meet certain conditions. Have you checked the Texas DPS site?

Yeah, you’ll need your license number, last four of your SSN, and a credit card for the fee.

If you don’t meet the requirements for online, just go to a DPS office with an ID like a passport. You’ll need to fill out a form there too.

Got it. Do they usually ask for other documents besides a passport?

Nope, passport or birth certificate works as long as you have one on you!

Just a heads up, they sometimes have long waits at the DPS office, so bring something to do. :sweat_smile:

Yeah, I was there for almost 2 hours last time I went. Definitely bring a charger too!

Make sure your license isn’t expired or suspended, or they might make you renew instead of replacing.

If you call the DPS support line, they can walk you through the online process too. They’re pretty helpful.
