My in-laws in India are not returning my jewelry

Hello everyone, I’m looking for advice from those who have gone through something similar. After being married in India, my spouse and I have been apart for a year. My spouse and I recently became citizens of Canada, and we share a home there. At our wedding, my parents gave me jewelry, which is currently owned by my in-laws in India. Unfortunately, my in-laws have said they don’t have the jewelry and won’t give it back to me. I want to get my jewels back. Is there anything I can do legally to sue my Canadian husband here in Canada or his parents in India? I would be grateful for any advice.

That’s tough. Have you considered mediation or negotiation?
