Need help cleaning my MVR record... anyone know how?

Hey, I need to know how to clean my MVR record. I’ve got some points on it that I want to get rid of, but IDK how. Any advice on this? :grimacing:

I think you’re gonna need to talk to a lawyer about this. Some states have rules about how long traffic violations stay on your record.

Yeah, I figured a lawyer might be needed. Do you know how much that usually costs?

I had this issue before. In most states, traffic citations drop off after a certain time. But some states are stricter. Where are you located?

I’m in the 5** area. So, I guess I’ll have to check the state rules…

There are services that help with this, but it’s best to talk to a traffic lawyer first. They can tell you how long things will stay on your record.

I’ll reach out to a lawyer then. Was just trying to figure out if there’s anything I can do myself first.

Most of the time, cleaning an MVR record is about waiting for points to drop off over time. A lawyer can help speed that up in some cases though.

Gotcha, so it’s not something that can happen overnight? Bummer… thanks for the heads up though!

I had the same thing happen. Some states will let you take a defensive driving course to remove points from your record too. Might be worth asking about that!

Oh, I didn’t know about that! I’ll definitely ask about the course when I talk to the lawyer. Thanks for that tip!
