Greetings…I’m trying to understand the laws around child abandonment in California. What qualifies as abandonment, and what are the legal consequences? Any insights or resources would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Leaving a kid under 18 in California all alone for too long is a big no-no. It’s called child abandonment, and it’s against the law. Basically, you can’t just ditch your kid without making sure they’re safe and have someone to look after them. If you do, you could end up facing criminal charges.
