Need to cancel an SSA appointment... anyone done this before?

Hey everyone! So I set up an appointment with Social Security for Oct 7 at 2:10 pm, but now I don’t really need it. I ended up finishing the application online and got confirmation my benefits will start in December. Anyone know the best way to cancel this?

You can usually cancel by calling their main number. It’s probably the quickest way to get it done.

They’re open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 7 pm. Should be able to reach someone during that time.

I tried that once, and yeah, I think calling is actually the only way to cancel.

Just a heads-up, when you call, you might need to wait on hold for a bit. I’ve had that experience before.
