Hey everyone, so my doctor’s intern totally botched my FMLA forms yesterday. They faxed in paperwork saying I’m healthy and can work 5-hour days. To top it off, they only listed 3 days for my short-term disability after my recent hospitalization. With my pain levels, there’s no way I can work right now. I really need time off for radiation therapy and physical therapy for the next month or two. Can my doctor fix and resend these forms? Will my employer have to accept the new ones?
Ugh, that’s so frustrating! But yes, your doctor can totally update and resend those forms. They just need to get the info right.
I had a similar issue once. Just explain everything to your doc and ask them to write down how long you need off.
Make sure your employer’s HR knows that the new forms are on the way. They usually need to confirm they got them.
If your employer pushes back, you might want to ask for a second opinion from another doc. Just in case!
