Where can I renew my license near Elk Grove, CA today (Saturday)?

I need to renew my driver’s license and I’m over 70. Is there anywhere near Elk Grove, CA where I can do that today (Saturday)? I still need to do the required tests and forms. Anyone know of a DMV open today?

The Elk Grove DMV is closed on Saturdays, unfortunately. But you can try the Sacramento South DMV. They’re open from 8 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays!

Yes, definitely go early though. It can get crowded. I went last Saturday and had to wait a while.

Yeah, that’s true. It’s a good idea to get there right when they open. Hopefully, it won’t be too busy today.

Just FYI, California requires an in-person renewal if you’re over 70, and you’ll have to take a vision test. You can start the process online though to save time.

Thanks for the heads up! I didn’t know about the vision test part. Guess I better get ready for that.

The Sacramento South DMV is your best bet. Just don’t forget to bring proof of identity and your old license. You’ll need that for the renewal.

The process isn’t that bad once you’re there, just make sure you’re ready for the vision test. The rest of it is pretty straightforward.

I’m a little nervous about the vision test lol, but I guess it’s not that big of a deal.
