Working 70 hours a week as a minor

I work seven days a week for roughly ten hours a day as a seventeen-year-old. After researching the regulations pertaining to child labor in my state of California, I have found that the maximum is eight hours per day, or 48 hours altogether. Is it my fault that I am working more hours, or should I be concerned?

After completing high school, you are exempt from California’s restrictions on child labor.

In case your employer is still requiring you to attend school even if it’s not in session, it seems like they are breaking LC 1391(a)(3).

You won’t be affected by this, but your employer might face hefty fines. Perhaps you should discuss it with them.
