Wrongfully SHARP'ed... need advice?

Hey all, I’m dealing with a SHARP case I believe is completely wrongful. I’ve been stuck at Ft. Sill for 14 weeks with no clear answers, and they’re saying I might get a Chapter 14-12c discharge. It all started because I refused to give a female some money, and next thing I know, I’m hit with this case. I really wanna fight this, but I don’t have a lawyer yet. Any advice on what to do next?

Man, that’s rough. Have you contacted the JAG office yet? They’re free for military personnel and can help with stuff like this.

Not yet, but I’ve been thinking about it. Do they actually help with cases like this?

What’s a Chapter 14-12c discharge? I’m not familiar with the terms.

It’s a misconduct discharge. Covers stuff like inappropriate behavior. Not great for benefits after service.

Got it, thanks. That sounds like it could mess up a lot of things long-term.

Document everything. Messages, witnesses, anything that shows your side of the story. It’s gonna be key if you fight this.

Good point. I do have some texts that could help. Just need to get them organized.

Yeah, even small stuff can make a big difference in cases like this. Don’t leave anything out.

Have they explained why it’s taking so long? 14 weeks seems like a lot of waiting.

Not really, just keep getting the runaround. Feels like they’re dragging it out.

Might be worth bringing up due process delays to JAG. Long waits can sometimes work in your favor.

I’d get a civilian lawyer too if you can afford it. JAG is good, but a civilian lawyer might give more focused attention.

Yeah, I’ve been looking around. Just trying to figure out how to find a good one for military cases.

Look for someone experienced with SHARP cases. They’ll know the ins and outs of military law.
