Anyone else dealing with parking citations in San Dimas... no signs anywhere?

I got a parking citation from the City of San Dimas, and I swear there’s zero signage anywhere saying when parking is prohibited. According to their own code, they should post signs, but there were none! I tried to contest it with proof and everything, but they still upheld it. They told me to pay and then I could request a hearing, but after paying, they closed my case. It’s been 21 days, and it feels so shady. Anyone else had this happen? Could this be stopped? IDK, it just seems so illegal.

Wow, that’s messed up. I had a similar issue with them last year. It’s crazy how they can just do that without proper signage. I’d say keep pushing back if you can.

Yeah, I agree. They definitely shouldn’t be able to do that without signs. I think the law’s on your side here.

@Ocean
Right? I’m honestly surprised they aren’t more careful about this. You’d think they’d change their approach once they get a lot of complaints.

That’s insane. How can they just ignore the law like that? I would totally fight it too. Have you contacted the service center about it?

Yeah, I asked them for contact info, but they never gave me anything useful. Seems like they’re trying to cover it up.

@Blair
Ugh, that’s frustrating. You might have to escalate it somehow. Definitely keep pressing them.

I don’t get how they can enforce something that’s not even posted. They’ve got to be violating something there. I’d keep going until you get a fair answer.

Agreed. It’s just not right. I bet a lot of people are probably dealing with the same thing without even realizing.

The city’s gotta have a responsibility to post signs if they’re gonna give tickets. If they don’t, that’s an automatic defense for anyone who’s ticketed, right?

Exactly! That’s what I thought. It just feels like they’re trying to get money out of people unfairly. It’s ridiculous.

Sounds like they’re just hoping people won’t contest it. Keep fighting it, they can’t just get away with this.

Yeah, that’s probably their whole strategy. Hope people just pay and move on. It’s so shady.
