I was terminated from my union job a month ago in Oregon, and honestly, things have been really tough financially. I called out sick for an FMLA condition and got fired because I had no points left. There was no investigation, and if someone had just talked to me, we could’ve avoided this whole mess. My employer claimed I never notified them about needing FMLA, but I have proof I did! Now I’m stuck waiting for this code from Oregon’s system, and my lease is up… what should I do? I don’t have family or friends to turn to for help.
What did your union steward say?

I think they haven’t been helpful. Have you tried reaching out again?
There’s no immediate recourse, but you should file a complaint ASAP.

How do I do that? I’m kinda lost on the process…

Call 1-866-487-9243 M-F during business hours to file a complaint. You posted the wrong link earlier, but this is the correct agency.
That’s such a tough situation… I hope you find some support soon.

Thanks, I appreciate it! Just trying to figure out what my next steps are.
Do you have any documentation from your doctor? That could help.

Yeah, my doctor completed the forms the same day I was fired. Hoping that helps my case.
Oh man, that sounds frustrating! Have you thought about reaching out to local support groups?

Not really… IDK if there are any near me. I’m just feeling super lost right now.
