Hey everyone… I’m dealing with a frustrating situation here in Maryland, specifically Somerset County. My son receives ABA services at home, but I’m trying to get them at his public school too. I submitted all the required info, but it feels like the school is dragging their feet on this. Has anyone else been through something similar? What rights do I have in this situation?
Ugh, I totally feel you! It’s so annoying when schools take forever to respond. Did you check if they confirmed your request?

I think they need to get their act together! It’s been over two weeks, right?

Same here! My kid has a similar issue with getting services. It’s just frustrating…
I’m curious… how did you send the info to the school? Like, was it through email or something?

Yeah, I sent everything via email. Just trying to keep a paper trail, you know?
Have you thought about contacting a special education attorney? They might help speed things up.

I did reach out to the Disability Rights Center! Just waiting for a callback now.

Good move! I heard they can really help navigate all this stuff.
That sounds so tough! Have you tried following up with the school? Sometimes that helps.

I haven’t yet, but I’m planning to. I just want to make sure they know I’m serious about this!
It’s wild how some kids get services while others don’t… Keep pushing for what your son needs!

Exactly! It just feels unfair that they allow some kids to have it and not others.
