I used to work at a corporate restaurant and faced sexual harassment and assault (groping). After I reported it, my hours got cut and the supervisor who investigated made things even worse. I didn’t feel safe anymore, so I resigned. Has anyone else been in a situation like this?
That sounds awful! Did you report it to HR or just the supervisor?

I reported it to HR before leaving, but they didn’t handle it well. The whole process made me feel worse.

Ugh, that’s terrible. Do they have more than 15 employees? You might be able to take legal action through the EEOC.
Sounds like you could have a case for retaliation and hostile work environment. Have you thought about filing a claim?

Yeah, someone mentioned the EEOC process, so I’m definitely looking into it now.

FYI, their website has some good info on starting a claim. My cousin went through something similar.
When did the harassment happen, if you don’t mind me asking?

It happened in mid-September, and I quit about a week later.

Gotcha. I hope the legal process goes smoothly for you.
Did you get any legal advice before quitting? A lawyer might have been able to guide you better.

I didn’t at the time, but I’m definitely looking into getting legal help now.

That’s smart. There are free consultations available too, in case you need it.
It’s so frustrating that stuff like this still happens. I hope you find the support you need.
