Anyone know a good criminal defense lawyer outside Vanderburgh, IN?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for recommendations on a criminal defense and civil rights attorney in Indiana, but outside Vanderburgh County. It’s been tough finding someone who can take on my case without charging an arm and a leg. Any suggestions?

You could try Justia’s lawyer directory! It’s pretty detailed, with info on experience, past cases, and client reviews. Might help you find someone who fits your needs.

I actually use Justia a lot! Found some good info, but it’s tricky… lawyers here are pressured by law enforcement, and most don’t want smaller cases. Thanks though .

Yeah, it can be frustrating. Have you tried connecting with civil rights groups in your area? Sometimes they have lawyer recommendations too.

@Ray
Good idea. I’ll check if there are any local groups. It’s crazy… feels like no one’s willing to take it on.

Man, lawyers really seem to go for big cases… it’s frustrating when you’re just trying to get some justice.

Exactly! It’s not even about free vs paid… I’ve spent so much learning this on my own as a pro se. I just want someone with experience to back me up.

Props for going pro se! It’s no easy thing to handle all that by yourself.

@Morgan
Thanks! It’s a journey, but I know when I need backup now. Pro se is cool until you hit a wall, haha.

Totally get it. Some civil rights lawyers work on cases where they don’t charge unless you win, but finding them is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Yep! It’s just hard to find someone with the experience and guts to push back against local pressure.

Have you looked outside Indiana? Might be a long shot, but some attorneys might travel for the right case.

@Phoenix
I might need to consider that, thanks for the tip. I hadn’t thought of reaching out further.

Wait, so you’re saying lawyers won’t take your case because of pressure from law enforcement? That’s wild.

Yeah, sadly. It’s like they’re not willing to risk it unless there’s big money involved. Makes it tough.

Yikes, that sounds so discouraging. Makes you wonder what ‘justice’ really means.
