Anyone know how to deal with child support issues and property problems after a tough life change?

Hey, I’m dealing with some crazy stuff right now. In 2016, my house burned down, and everything pretty much went downhill from there. I lost my job, my benefits stopped, and I’ve had to deal with some legal issues that keep piling up. I got arrested 26 times (some of those were for child support issues, others for other reasons), and now I’m trying to figure out how to get my life back on track. Anyone got advice on how to handle this, especially when you’re overwhelmed and trying to figure out what to do next? I just want things to be better for me and my kids. Thanks for any help.

Wow, that’s a lot to deal with. Have you looked into getting your child support modified? In Alabama, if your circumstances changed significantly (like losing your job or health problems), the court might be able to adjust the payments.

@Carter
I didn’t even think of that, but now that you mention it, that could really help. Thanks for the suggestion!

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through all that. If the cops impounded your diesel, you might be able to contest it if they didn’t follow the proper process. Maybe check with the local PD to see what your options are?

@Lior
Yeah, I’m definitely going to check on that. I don’t even know what happened there, it just disappeared. Thanks for the tip!

If the power was turned off without notice, maybe there’s something you can do with the Alabama Public Service Commission? They might be able to help with utility disputes.

Oh, I didn’t know about that. I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Sounds like you’ve been through a lot, but it’s awesome you’re reaching out for help. Take things slow, and don’t feel like you need to fix everything at once. I think things will get better if you keep going one step at a time.

@Bay
That’s what I keep telling myself. Some days it’s just hard to stay positive, but I’m trying. Thanks for the encouragement!

Just wanted to say, you’re not alone. My family has been through tough times too, and things can turn around. Stay strong for your kids!

I appreciate that more than you know. Trying to keep it together for them.
