Anyone know how to fix a name error on a Florida driver's license?

Hey everyone! My name is spelled wrong on my Florida driver’s license. Has anyone dealt with this? Do I need to call or just go to the DMV? Any advice?

Oh yeah, had this happen to me too. You’ll need to make an appointment at the DMV in your county. They can fix it there!

Thanks! Wasn’t sure if I could just do it over the phone.

@Kim
Nope, unfortunately they usually want you there in person for stuff like this.

I think you’ll need some form of ID with the correct name to show them. Did they just spell it wrong, or is it a totally different name?

They just messed up a couple of letters, lol. I have my passport with the correct name though.

@Kim
Perfect, your passport should work. Just show it to them and they’ll make the correction.

I had to change my name after getting married and just went straight to the DMV. It was pretty quick, so don’t stress about it!

Good to know! I was worried it might take forever.

If you call, they might be able to tell you exactly what you need to bring. Just a heads up!

Good idea, I’ll give them a call first just in case.

Pretty sure you need to go in person if it’s a name correction. They’ll ask for ID, so bring any official docs you have!

Thanks! I’ll bring everything just to be safe.
