So, the other day I was driving on a three-lane one-way road in Los Angeles when a police car came up behind me with its lights flashing. I couldn’t move to the right immediately because another car was there. Then, I thought I was supposed to pull over and panicked, so I went to the left side of the road. The police car ended up stopping for a moment, and I blocked its way, but then it just drove past me. The officer shouted something as they passed, but I couldn’t hear it. I wasn’t given a ticket or asked for my license. Does anyone know if they’ll send me a ticket or summons in the mail for this? How long would that take?
That sounds stressful! I’d say there’s a good chance you won’t get anything in the mail. If they didn’t pull you over and issue a ticket right then, it’s probably not going to happen later.

Yeah, I agree. They’d usually hand you a ticket if they wanted to charge you right there. If nothing happened on the spot, you’re probably in the clear.
@Jamie
Exactly! They might just forget about it unless something big happened after. But, if it were a major issue, I think you’d know by now.
I’ve had a similar situation and never got anything in the mail. I think they would’ve sent something by now if they were planning to issue a citation.

Good to know! I’ve been kind of stressed about it, but hearing your experience makes me feel better.
I think the officer yelling as they passed might not mean much either, especially if it was just a quick shout. They probably just wanted you to get out of the way, lol.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. What do you think he said? You didn’t hear it, right?
@Casey
Nope, I couldn’t hear a word because my window was closed. Could’ve been anything, honestly! Maybe just telling me to move or something.
In my case, the police never bothered sending a ticket after a similar thing, but I’d still keep an eye out for anything in the mail just in case. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll definitely keep an eye out just in case.
Did you catch the police car’s license plate? That might help if anything does come up. If not, no worries though.

It was all on my dashcam, so I could check the footage for the plate number. Not sure if I’ll need it, though.
