I’m currently a veteran with 100% P&T compensation, and I’m interested in applying for VR&E to do an on-the-job training apprenticeship. But I’m a bit worried that participating in this program might reduce or affect my VA rating. Anyone know if that’s true?
I had the same concern before applying! From what I understand, going through the VR&E program itself doesn’t automatically affect your rating. It’s more about whether your medical condition improves, but since you’re 100% P&T, it’s rare for them to reevaluate your rating. Don’t worry too much about it!
Same here! I was a bit worried about this too when I looked into VR&E. It seems like they don’t automatically change things just because you’re using the program. If anything, it’s there to help you get the skills for a better job.
I’ve been in the VR&E program for a while and haven’t had any issues with my rating. It’s definitely not automatic that they’ll change it unless your condition changes. VR&E is just there to help you get back to work!
I was told the same thing by a lawyer—VR&E shouldn’t mess with your P&T rating. It’s mostly about helping you get back into the workforce if that’s what you want. I wouldn’t worry too much about it!
So if I’m understanding this right, VR&E won’t mess with your rating unless your medical condition changes, even if you’re in the program for training? I was a little confused about this, but it seems clear now.
