Hey, I’m writing a story about a person trying to re-enlist in the Army and I have a quick question for a recruiter. What’s the max age for someone who served 6 years before? I’m just trying to get the right details, any help would be awesome!
Hey! From what I know, if you served 6 years, you can re-enlist up to age 55, as long as your service was honorable. Pretty cool, right?

Wait, 55?! That’s way older than I expected! That’s good info, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I was surprised too! But it’s all about that honorable discharge. Pretty fair if you ask me.
I think it also depends on the MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) and whether they have any special qualifications. But 55 is the general cutoff, yeah.

Ahh, makes sense. So if they want to re-enlist in a certain job, there might be more to it.

Exactly, the age limit could vary depending on what role they’re going for.
If you’re still looking for more info, you can check out the official regulation here: Basic qualifications for enlistment.. It explains everything.
Is the recruiter saying something different than what we’ve been talking about? If it’s about qualifications, I wonder if that’s why they ask about age specifically.

Nah, it’s pretty standard info. I think it’s just based on what job you’re aiming for. I could be wrong though!
Hey, anyone here know if there’s a way to talk to a recruiter about this? Could be helpful for the story I’m writing too.

I was talking to a recruiter online, they usually chat through something like JustAnswer or even a phone call. Might help if you wanna get direct info.
