I’ve been hearing a lot about how the Democrat Party is seen as the party for the rich and the Republicans are for the poor. Is that really true? Anyone have thoughts on this? It feels like it’s more complicated these days, but it’s hard to figure out where each party stands now…
Yeah, I get what you mean. It used to be like that, right? Democrats were for the working class and Republicans for the business folks. But now it feels like both sides have become super wealthy politicians. It’s kinda hard to define them that way anymore.
@Sky
Exactly! Both sides are just filled with people who have a lot of money now. It’s more about political power than class anymore, imo.

Yep, it’s more about control these days. Both parties focus on either welfare or economic boosts, but neither is really ‘for the poor’ in a direct way anymore.
I always thought Republicans were more about cutting taxes and reducing government help, while Democrats were about supporting social programs. So, I guess they’ve both shifted in that way over time?

Yeah, exactly! Democrats focus on social handouts and the Republicans want to encourage people to work, start businesses, and limit government spending. So it’s really more about regulation and control than rich vs poor.
I agree with the idea that both parties are kinda the same now when it comes to wealthy politicians. It’s not really about being ‘pro-rich’ or ‘pro-poor’ anymore, it’s more about what each side believes the government should do or not do.
@Merritt
Right! I guess it’s more about what they think is best for the country in terms of economy and welfare programs, but I wonder how that impacts regular people.
Huh, I always thought the Democrats were more into big government programs and the Republicans were about less government interference. Does that still hold up or not really?

Yeah, that’s pretty much still true. Democrats push for more control and government support, while Republicans want less regulation and more focus on individual work and business. It’s more about control than anything else now.
This whole rich vs poor thing doesn’t really seem to apply anymore, at least not the way it used to. It feels like both parties just want to manage the economy differently. Democrats focus on welfare, Republicans on businesses.
@Milan
I see what you mean. So, it’s more about the type of economy and programs they support rather than focusing on rich or poor, right?
