I recently received a referred OER for height/weight failure, but I haven’t faced any disciplinary actions yet. Just wondering… could this lead to a show cause board?
Hey! So, if you haven’t been flagged or referred to the Body Composition Program (ABCP), it’s less likely. They usually give counseling before considering a show cause board.

Thanks! I wasn’t counseled or flagged at all. I actually PCS’d before a supplemental assessment could happen.

Oh, so you PCS’d on compassionate reassignment? That might actually help, since they didn’t get time to do the full assessment.
Did they mention any other concerns besides height/weight? Sometimes they look at other factors too.

No, nothing else. Just the height/weight thing.

In that case, yeah, sounds like it’s just procedural stuff. Don’t stress too much!
At 17.5 years and just pinning O5? They usually don’t go straight to a show cause over this unless there’s a history.

That’s good to know! I’m more concerned about an old IG complaint that’s resurfaced, like a year later.

Oh, I see. If the old unit didn’t follow proper ABCP procedures, they might try to bring it up. But without counseling, it’s harder for them to prove much.
Did anyone advise you to reach out to JAG or the Trial Defense Service (TDS)? Just in case?

Yeah, my branch manager suggested TDS. Just trying to cover all my bases here.

Good idea. TDS can definitely help if it does come to a show cause board. But honestly, sounds like it’s less likely.
Seems like with no counseling, flagging, or other paperwork, they don’t have much evidence to bring up a serious case.

That’s what I’m hoping! Feels like it might not go anywhere.

Yep, sounds like you should be okay. Thanks for your service, btw!
