I’ve been in Oklahoma Drug Court for 41 months now, and I thought the program length was supposed to be 36 months. Does anyone know if I can request to be let out since I’ve been in longer than the standard time?
I think you can, but it depends on if you’ve met all the program requirements. Judges can sometimes extend it if they feel you need more time to finish everything.

Yeah, they’ll want to see if you’ve completed all the necessary steps, like counseling or any other requirements. Have you talked to your lawyer about it?
@Lior
Good point. I haven’t reached out yet, but I might. Just feels like I’ve done everything, you know?
If you’ve been compliant all this time, you might be able to file a motion for early release. It’s worth bringing up to your attorney.

Thanks! I didn’t know you could file a motion for that. I’ll look into it .
I’ve heard that they sometimes hold people longer if there were any issues, like missed check-ins or anything. Were there any hiccups along the way?

Luckily no major issues, I was pretty consistent. Just didn’t expect it to go on this long.
@Drew
That’s good to hear! Maybe that’ll help you out when you make your case to end early.
Gather all your documentation showing you completed everything—like all counseling and court stuff. Judges sometimes look at that to decide if they’ll let you go.

Thanks, I’ve got most of it, but I’ll make sure to have it all ready.
@Drew
Yeah, having proof always helps. Good luck .
Not sure if this helps, but I’ve heard of people getting extensions if the court thinks they’re not fully ready yet. It’s up to the judge, though.

True, I get why they’d do that. Just hoping they’ll see I’m ready to move on.
